Individual Apple Pies

Seriously, who doesn't love apple pie?? Who loves apple pie(s) that take 20 minutes... ME!!

Ingredients:
-Crescent rolls, 8 count (reduced fat is fine)
-1 medium apple, cut into 8ths
-1/4 cup of sugar
-1/2 tsp. cinnamon 
-2 tsb. butter

How to make it:

1) preheat oven to 350 degrees F

2) roll out and separate your crescent rolls, mix together sugar and cinnamon, cut apple into eighths, and melt butter.

3) sprinkle sugar mixture over unrolled crescents, then place an apple slice on each. Roll up.

4) Brush each roll with melted butter. Now, sprinkle sugar mixture heavily over rolls.

5) Bake for 13-15 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.

DIY: Pretty Pins

Thump tacks are boring and dull. Point blank. You're pinning up a priceless photo or inspirational quote with a lifeless thump tack. So Saturday night I busted out my glue gun, buttons and pearls... and set to work. 

Pinned them into a paint swatch left over from a calendar I made (see that at the end of post) so you could see the colors.

What You'll Need:

Thumb Tacks came from the Dollar Store... $1 for a pack of 300. Some buttons gave been randomly found and others bought from Hobby Lobby.

My Procedure:

Add tiny drop of glue to "base" button, then quickly put "top" button on top and press together.

Next, flip over button so the "bottom" is facing upward...

Add glue to this side then immediately press thumb tack on.

Then, after I'd make them, I'd stick them through a paint swatch so they could completely dry (this would be essential if you were using white glue instead of hot glue)

Then make TONS more! 

I misplaced my cork board so unfortunately you can't see the little babies in action. 

Here is my awesome paint swatch calendar I made. It costed a whole one dollar...

Frame: Dollar Store (8x11- I Think)

Paint Swatches: Lowes ~ FREE!

My only complaints is that I couldn't find a shorter, but longer frame. My intention was to have a swatch for each day, but I had to make Saturday and Sunday together. I still LOVE it!

Clothes Slip No More

I've had a break through. Well some lady on Pinterest had a break through and I embraced her genius-ness.

Don't you hate when your clothes slip off those plastic hangers? Yeah, me too. But who would've thought hot glue could fix your problems??

What you need:

-the stubborn, slippery hangers

-a hot glue gun

Your objective: to make a zig zag pattern with the hot glue down the hanger

BAM!

Why this works?

The hot glue zig-zags create texture... the bumps prevent the clothes from falling off. And for those strappy tanks- the straps have to slide over each little grove to fall off...yeah, right!

I held these hangers at strong angles and took photos to show you that doing this little DIY will make a dramatic difference in how much better your clothes stay on the hangers. You can also do this on wire hangers, but these plastic ones are typically the pesky ones for me! Changed my life!

Velveeta Cheese Dip

Hello everyone! I wasn't feeling like doing a link up today so instead I decided to share a recipe tutorial with you all! This cheese dip is one my mom made for my sister and I for as long as we can remember! I recall sitting at the bar begging my mom to give us little blocks of cheese! I hope you love this as much as I do! It is a must have on "taco night" in my house!

Velveeta Cheese Dip! 

ingredients 

step 1

step 4 (after round one of microwaving)

step 5 (after round two of microwaving)

step 6 (after round three of microwaving)

finished cheese dip! (after round four of microwaving)

Ingredients:

-block of Velveeta cheese 

-can of Rotel- original 

-bag of tortilla chips (we use scoops!)

Directions:

-cut block of cheese into cubes

-open can of Rotel and pour into microwave safe bowl filled with cheese

-stir cheese and Rotel together

-microwave on high for 2:50 minutes, remove and stir

-repeat process until cheese is totally melted and hot! *approx. four intervals!

Pre-pouring the cheese dip into the scoops is great for parties! No mess- grab n go!!

Easy Pizza Quesadillas

Hello, lovelies! This week I am cooking up a storm to make "Nanny Mal's" last week awesome! Last night I made pepperoni pizza quesadillas and they were awesome! We ate them off the ottoman while watching Pretty Little Liars! Amazing combination. The recipe was easy to follow, however the tortillas weren't as crispy as I'd like them to be but they began to burn so we took them out of the skillet. Next time I will bake them to try to achieve crispiness and attempt to make them more healthy!

Easy Pizza Quesadillas

Ingredients:

8 flour tortillas (I used whole wheat)

8 ounces of shredded mozzarella cheese

6 ounces of sliced pepperoni

1 16 ounce jar of pizza sauce

(You could also add any other pizza toppings that you like)

Directions:

1. Heat a medium skillet over medium heat and fry the pepperoni until crisp - transfer to a paper towel to drain

2. Brush each tortilla with a thin layer of pizza sauce. You want this layer to be very thin!

3. Sprinkle cheese on top of the sauce on the bottom tortilla. Top with other toppings if desired. Sprinkle another layer of cheese and place the other tortilla on top- sauce side down

4. Preheat a greased skillet over medium heat.

5. Gently place quesadilla in the pan and cook for 3 to 5 minutes on each side, until cheese is melted and tortillas are crispy

6. Slice into quarters and serve with a bowl of warm pizza sauce
