C.M.O.

C.M.O. = Compulsive-Monogramming-Obsession. It is a legit issue southern belles all over the South are struggling to overcome. Or embrace. I diagnosed myself with C.M.O this weekend when a mad sense of craftiness took me over. Below you will gawk over all my beautiful creations. While I was crafting, I got a sense of generosity as well, and made gift boxes full of monogrammed labels and monogrammed circles for my three lady friends!

Coasters. A necessity.

Four-sided monogram jar filled with blank love notes♥

Ah... the lovely monogram added to my fake Ran Bans... a must.

Double monogram. Score. Need to fill jar with pretty flowers...

Individual Apple Pies

Seriously, who doesn't love apple pie?? Who loves apple pie(s) that take 20 minutes... ME!!

Ingredients:
-Crescent rolls, 8 count (reduced fat is fine)
-1 medium apple, cut into 8ths
-1/4 cup of sugar
-1/2 tsp. cinnamon 
-2 tsb. butter

How to make it:

1) preheat oven to 350 degrees F

2) roll out and separate your crescent rolls, mix together sugar and cinnamon, cut apple into eighths, and melt butter.

3) sprinkle sugar mixture over unrolled crescents, then place an apple slice on each. Roll up.

4) Brush each roll with melted butter. Now, sprinkle sugar mixture heavily over rolls.

5) Bake for 13-15 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.

Corkboard Makeover

My favorite things about DIY's are using the things you have to make something beautiful, which is exactly what I did with this cork-board. It had several spots where the cork had torn or completely came off the underlying structure. I had been curious to how I could re-purpose something to use for the same things. The floor in my office was filled with numerous print outs and business cards and I wanted a cute way to display them all in one place. 

Things you will need:
-lots and lots of thumbtacks *Mine were a pack of 300 from dollar store... 
-an old sheet
- hot glue
-cork board

How to make it...

Spread sheet across board and smooth out to fit the frame.

begin to place thumbtacks all along the perimeter of the cork-board

don't give up... you'll want too. just keep swimming...

once all thumbtacks are in place... flip over and use a combination of thumbtacks, scissors, and hot glue to secure the fabric to the back of board. I used a twin sheet and had tons of fabric to cut. Buying fabric to fit the board is also an option.

ORGANIZE YOURSELF!

I am very pleased with how this turned out. Now my OCDself can finally rest at ease.

Sue's Chili Beans

 This recipe below comes from a lady named Sue. This recipe happens to be not only a fall favorite of mine... but one of those "I could eat this everyday for the rest of my life and never get tired of it" kind meals. Yes, it's that good. I give you the best chili beans known to man, aka,  Sue's Chili Beans!

Ingredients:
2 lbs hamburger
3/4 c. ketchup 
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
3/4 c. brown sugar
50-60 oz. pork & beans {drain juice}
50-60 oz. kidney beans {drain juice}
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. chopped celery 

Procedure:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Brown hamburger, combine onion, pepper, and celery. Add remaining ingredients to mixture. Transfer to dish and bake covered for one hour. Serve immediately. 

These chili beans are to die for! I enjoyed them while doing a little DIY project, which you can catch a glimpse of in the background of the photo above. Check back tomorrow so see what all those thumbtacks are about! 

Letter's From Tyler

I love blogs that have weekly "Dear..." posts. The only thing I don't like about those is the letter only comes from the blogger herself. Today I am sharing with you a note my boy friend Tyler, who has been mentioned an awful lot lately, wrote for me probably a year ago. He is just precious♥

I love you Rachel I really do and I just want to make sure you are happy with me. It's crazy the way I feel about you. It really is cause I could never dream of a better girlfriend cause you are perfect and perfect for me. Thank you for all you do for me it means the world to me. I can see our relationship going farther later on but only if you would like it to. You are the best thing that was ever put in my life. You treat me like nobody has ever treated me. You mean the world to me and I think of you 24/7 and it's great. I just want you to be happy and as long as you are happy I'm happy. You're perfect Rachel. I'm glad that you like to see me and spend time with me. It makes me have this feeling that I can't explain at all but it is so great and you're the best. You make me the happiest guy on the Earth. You, me... perfect couple and the happiest couple. Thank you for the way you treat me cause it is great. I never want to loose you cause I would be lost and I wouldn't know what to do. You make my life complete. I just love everything about you. From the way you look at me to the way you walk. All of it is perfect. My family loves you and I hope yours feels the same way. But I am crazy about you and I can never see you or be with you enough. You're my everything and I just can't wait until I can put a ring on your finger. (insert tiny drawing of ring with big diamond here). You complete my life and you don't need to change anything. You don't try to be like anyone else and that's what makes you the person you are. The promise ring made it to my finger... I'm sure he's waiting til we are of legal marrying age for the ring with the big diamond ;)
